Two Dogs Dead, Other Animals Saved In DC House Fire

Multiple animals were pulled from a D.C. house fire on Wednesday, Sept. 28, officials reported.

Sometime after 2 p.m. fire crew reported to the 1700 block Lincoln Road to put out the flames coming from the first floor of a two-story home, according to D.C. Fire and EMS.

Sadly, of the five dogs pulled from the blaze, two died from their injuries, authorities said.

The other three dogs, one cat, and many turtles pulled from the fire were cared for by firefighters, officials said.

There was no information on how the fire started or whether there were human occupants home at the time of the incident.
